Week 3; Project 3- Rendering

Here is my rendering and process towards week 3.
Here shown is the first design of the monkey, using regular planes with sharp edges and rather blocky aesthetic. With feedback, I decided too change this to better accommodate the style of the rounded head; by making a body much more curved.

The new designs here are used with SubDs to produce these curved shapes. I used PointOn to adjust these curves into legs, while also using SubDs towards making fingers and feet. This is done using GridSnap, simply placing SubDs in a sequence of a palm, and fingers.

I also decided it was appropriate to add personality to the monkey, making a reference towards the Three Wise Monkeys commonly known. Here I have basic renders of the first two; see no evil, and speak no evil.

I added the last monkey, hear no evil while coloring in the monkeys with their appropriate hues. Since my intention was a figurine of some sorts, I decided it will display well on a table top.

I have utilized Rhino's Wallpaper feature within the Viewport settings, allowing me to seamlessly merge these monkey figurines into a real-world environment; almost augmented reality.
And here are some basic renders utilizing a white background to highlight the monkeys.

All in all, I do wish to somehow make this figurine into a bobblehead; by perhaps merging the arms with the head to have some kinetic function. And to potentially save time and resources, perhaps print a single body while having interchangeable heads for added function.

Will have to design and engineer some sort of system, either through spring or ball-joint.

Here is the project being prepped for 3D printing.

I may need to experiment some more towards printing out sections rather than one whole piece, because it would take a significant amount of time for supports.
